Tom Richman – Dro Montana (Sweater Beats Remix)

This is some sexy ass shit right hurrrr.

Diluted – Sinking Coitus

Sinking Coitus.  Let’s break this down.

Sinking : a : to go to the bottom  b : to become partly buried (as in mud) c : to become engulfed

Coitus : physical union of male and female genitalia accompanied by rhythmic movements

Ohio based producers Elliot Nash and Sal Miller, who together make up DILUTED, have been creating some extremely exciting and progressive music that falls into the way too vague genre of BASS MUSIC.  This is their song, Sinking Coitus, which is a sexy, smooth, downtempoesque piece of audio art.  Sinking Coitus features a gorgeous french vocal sample that does quite a good job at keeping you in a hypnotized state throughout the entirety of the song.

Unless all you listen to is heavy metal and Borgore, I think it’s near impossible not to find some level of enjoyment from this music. Enjoy!

It’s A Jazz Thing (Phillip D Kick Footwork Jungle Edit)

This track goes SO HARD!  The footwork movement has made it’s way out the ghettos of Chicago and into the worldwide bass music scene.  This remix of It’s A Jazz Thing by Phillip D Kick is outstanding.  It’s extremely easy to get your body groovin’ to this track.  Everything from the smooth bass line, all the way down to the tambourine sits nicely in my speakers and mind.  Bump this one!

Phutureprimitave – Ripple Effect

Bass music from the North West never ceases to amaze me.  This track is off Phutureprimatives album Kinetik which was released about a year ago.  The vibes on this track are nothing short of spacey, positive, awesomeness meant to launch you into a realm of pure bliss for five minutes.  This ones a large tune, enjoy!

Intelepaths – Neon Arrows EP

July is upon us.  In the year of the dragon, us Americans will be celebrating the 236th year of our independence as a country on July 4th.  Along with all the days off work, proud emotions, arguably some of the most epic BBQ’s world-wide, and an incomparable amount of fireworks going off nation wide, the 4th of July is known to many as a reason to throw the most outlandish parties imaginable.  This year there is a special treat for the bass music community not only in the United States, but around the world…

On Tuesday, July 3rd, Intelepaths will be releasing their debut EP, entitled Neon Arrows, through Critical Beats.  Made up of Ill-esha, and Unlimited Gravity (aka two of the West coasts most well known glitchy/dubby/hip-hoppy/all-around-awesome artists around), Intelepaths is a brand new project and a brand new name, constructed of two bass music veterans.  Both Unlimited Gravity and Ill-esha have a very steady and enthusiastic following which seems to have already launched this project into the “sucessful” realm of things.  Upon hearing about the beginning of Intelepaths from Ill-esha herself a couple months ago, I was immediately intrigued by the sound that these two would produce together and had a feeling it may be a sound unheard before.

“2 people doing live singing, rapping, looping…we both produce” was what I was told.  And that is exactly what has been delivered…and a whole lot more…

Made up of 5 songs, Neon Arrows is an INCREDIBLY different take on what you’ve been hearing in glitch-hop.  Combing their beautiful harmonized voices, over top beatbox recordings, over the funkiest of bass lines, backed by the thickest, crispiest drums, and topped off with an orchestral ambiance,  Intelepaths have crafted a sound that they can genuinely call their own.

You all heard the preview of what was on the way with Intelepath’s cover of Adina Howard’s Freak Like Me.  I don’t doubt that this will be one of the most sought after releases from Critical Beats this year.  In TWO days you’re able to get your copy of Intelepaths debut EP Neon Arrows to properly set off your 4th of July with the fireworks of their sound.

Until then…enjoy the previews!

Space Ghost – Bossy Edit

Space Ghost has come into my world and officially launched me into orbit with this his original take on Kelis’ 2006 hit, Bossy.  Now…Kelis may have been aiming  to create a sexually appealing atmosphere with her seductive lyrics and stimulating music video, but she still failed. She missed the sexy and went straight to slutty.  Luckily for her, Space Ghost has cleaned up her mistakes from six years past and turned the song into what it SHOULD have sounded like all along.  It’s airy, spacey, driven by the kick and snare, accented with sweet and soft chords, got a chopped and screwed vibe, and meant for the bedroom.  Space Ghosts Bossy edit is downright sexy. Enjoy!

Artist Highlight – Animal Laughter

Kissimmee, Florida, is a place that I have heard of, a place I have passed through while riding the Amtrak from Tampa to Orlando many times, a place I have heard stories of, and also a place that sits in my head as an economically broken and beaten southern city that has very little left to offer. Or, that’s what I thought until I recently heard the beautiful and intriguing bass music of Animal Laughter.  With a style that would sit nicely on the West Coast, Animal Laughter is coming with a very smooth, sexy, 808 driven sound that you can play in any setting.  I can imagine hearing his tunes in a club setting…at a nice lounge style lunch restaurant on the beach…on one of my favorite mix cd’s on a long road trip…this cat is really versatile.  The two tracks that stick out to me the most are his Color Motion tunes (the original mix and 808 edit).  These are just downright sexy tunes meant for a bedroom.  The 808 edit of Color Motion has got that new juke bassline and you guessed it, that 808 drum kit that just smacks! I don’t have too much more to say about Animal Laughter, except you should definitely show some love for the Florida resident who is bringing positivity back to his town, and stay tuned for more coming from this youngin’.

Skream – Come Down

I’m speechless after playing Skream’s new track, Come Down.  What an incredibly emotional tune from the dubstep legend.  Skream says he’s looking for Weekndesque vocals to accompany this gem of a tune.  I’m interested in what will come of Come Down. Tune in.

Russ Liquid – PURPLEZ MIX

This is the kick start to a having the freshest and most stress free day of your week.  Russ Liquid…on a Saturday morning…with a fatty spliff… on the front stoop…accompanied by a mimosa (no not the artist).  Sound alright to you? Okay, perfect, have fun and enjoy!

The Californian bass scene is ON FIRE. GOD DAMN!

Stinkahbell – Stinkahz in Paris

THIS ONES A STINKAH!! Haha…seriously though…Stinkahbell went in extra hard on this one.  I’d take this over Jay-Z and Kanye any day.  Nuff said!  The samples are hot and the wobbles are killin’ my speakers! In a good way.  Okay, CHOON IN! Huge shout out to everyone in the UK coming with that next level bass music for ears worldwide.

Pressha – Everything In Moderation

Sexy…Bassy…Glitchy…Wobbly…Fifty minutes long…what’s not to love about this mix from Seattles own, Pressha?  After getting back from Envision Music Festival in Costa Rica and being surrounded by artists such as Gladkill, Chris B, Ill-Esha, KllSmth, and Russ Liquid, I’ve been on a serious glitch-hop/sexy bass hunt.  Luckily, I’m not the only one who’s been feeling the energy of the gorgeous tunes coming from countless artists across the West Coast.  This mix Pressha released through BassDrop on 4/20 is absolutely ridiculous.  Whatever it is you’re doing at the moment will probably get that much better as soon as you click play and tune into the sounds that have been inspiring one of Seattles most well known bass DJ’s.  FIRST, here are a few words from Pressha himself regarding Everything In Moderation.

“When I set out to make this, I wanted to make a sequel to Sex to make Dubstep to. I found myself wanting to push a very similar sound but yet the tempo increased as I chose tracks I wanted to use over and over. Midtempo and Sexy Bass music has taken a stronger hold of me than I expected and it comes through on this. There are a few unreleased tracks by a couple of my favorite producers at the moment, the whole thing is meant to be played and replayed while making love, partying, enjoying the sunset, and just generally anything that makes you feel good inside.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it for you.”

Morris – Independent Study Riddim

I’m curious as to how this heavy riddim got it’s name.  Is this Morris’ independent study?  Making bangin’ instrumentals that touch your soul? It could be.  Maybe this is for all you university students who need to wind down from your hectic independent studies.  Maybe this is for all you university students that are straight chillin’ on your independent studies.  Peep the slow grind wobble in this Independent Study Riddim and relax to the sounds of Morris.

DJ Shadow ft. Little Dragon – Scale It Back (Silkie’s Slowjam Mix)

Lets get a little sexy bass action poppin’ off in your world this morning with Silkies Slow jam remix of DJ Shadow & Little Dragon’s, Scale It Back.  This tune might not be new, well okay…its kind of new… I guess it’s not freshly uploaded 30 minutes ago on SoundCloud new, but it’s still representing just how amazing 2012 has been for producers worldwide.  One thing I love about Silkie easily his name reflects the music he makes.  It’s all Silkie smooth.  Enjoy and treat yourself well today!

Freeze Tag-Tidal Wave (DJ Self Help Remix)

Here is brand new remix out homie Self Help did for a Cleveland based electronic artist named Freeze-Tag.   Tidal Wave is right up my alley for the beats I’ve been listening to recently.  Not too heavy, not too many words, a nice hard kick/snare/clap combo to keep your feet moving, and yes, it of course has Self Help’s energy oozing out of your speakers and into your heart.  The orginal Tidal Wave is definitely worth checking out too so here is the video for that.  Sexy and smooth.  It’s that simple. Enjoy!

Doe Paoro-Born Whole (Egon Brainparts Remix)

Egon Brainparts of Bossasaurus (Oakland, CA) has brought us an incredibly beautiful remix of Doe Paoro’s (Brooklyn, NYC) song, Born Whole.  This is some SEXY dubstep for all you bass ladies out there in the world.  For some reason the intro makes me feel like I’m in Miami in 1988…then the smooth melody distracts you and carries your heart and mind away to a world ruled by clean, hard hitting drums, crisp, bubbly wobbles, and an atmosphere consisting of glitchy goodness.  Egon Brainpart is just getting started this year, so keep an eye out for more tunes from him and the rest of this crew, Bossasaurus, here on GANJAOLOGY.ORG, on SOUNDCLOUD, and through their BANDCAMP.

Big Up Podcast #50 – Phaeleh

I’ve always been a fan of podcasts and am always happy to find a new subscription to get excited about.  This past week I came across Big Up Magazine Podcast and downloaded a couple episodes.  Yes, I was excited, and for good reason.  These were incredible mixes by todays biggest players in bass music and covered a wide range of music while staying pretty specific.  Make sense?  I ran through mixes by Modeselector, Mexicans With Guns, Ghostpoet, and then came across a mix by Phaeleh that blew me away with it’s smooth, sub driven beats and airy melodies.  Phaeleh produced every track you hear on this mix.  This is on par with the Mad Decent Luvstep mix that was released in 2010 AKA one of the coldest and sexiest mixes ever recorded in the history of humanity.  Deep. Powerful. Inspirational. Downright moving.  This has been on repeat at the Ganjaology headquarters for a couple days now…here is what you’re next 47min  (or next couple days) will consist of…
